Up to and including 2018, Curlews were only ringed with color rings near Zwolle. In the context of the Year of the Curlew in 2019, from 2018 onwards birds are ringed in other parts of the country as well. color have also been ringed in Drenthe, Friesland, Brabant and on Terschelling. Near Zwolle, in Drenthe and in Brabant mainly young birds are ringed. In Friesland and on Terschelling also adult Curlews are ringed. The aim of this project is to gain more insight into the survival of both adult and juvenile Curlews, fidelity of adults and the dispersion of young. Finally, the wintering areas can also be mapped.
