Colour code
The birds in this project are ringed with two plain coloured rings on both lower legs and a plain flag in a varying position.
The colour code consists of 6 consecutive elements:
- the letter of the colour of the flag (1 letter)

- the colour of the upper ring around the left lower leg
- the colour of the lower ring around the left lower leg
- the colour of the upper ring around the right lower leg
- the colour of the lower ring around the right lower leg
Example Y5BYYY. This bird has a blue ring around its left lower leg and a yellow ring below it. There are two yellow rings around the right lower leg. There is a yellow flag on the left lower leg between the two coloured rings.
