Spread across the Netherlands, magpies (Pica pica) are provided with a colour ring in addition to the metal ring. The aim of the study is to gain more insight into the distribution and survival of magpies. In addition, site use is collected to gain more insight into preferences of individuals. The birds are mainly ringed in built-up areas, but observations in outlying areas are also very valuable.
